Small size, great performance

Simply quantify proteins…
at your convenience

Despite its small size Amperia includes everything you need for confident, convenient, cost-effective protein quantification.

The compact benchtop instrument, is a simple-to-use solution for rapid and accurate automated quantification of a range of biomolecules directly from unpurified samples in standard 96-well microplates.

Amperia is controlled through an intuitive, built-in touch interface. Installation takes only 15 minutes. All that is needed is a socket and it is ready to go.

Effortlessly perform up to four measurements simultaneously. Once you load your samples and set up the experiment, Amperia takes over, giving you faster access to data and more time to focus on other important tasks.

Convenient

Convenient

Compact footprint of just 40 cm x 40 cm, with no additional computing equipment required. Deploy directly where you need it most, whether on a crowded lab bench, next to a bioreactor or in a laminar flow cabinet.

Fast and Efficient

Fast and efficient

Rapid, accurate titre measurements in as little as 1 minute per sample. Four samples can be measured in parallel—ideal for applications requiring fast turnaround time.

Easy to use

Easy to use

The ‘plug and play’ operation, user-friendly interface, pre-coated sensors and automated analysis reduce the need for specialised training.

Compatible

Compatible with complex samples

Reliably and precisely quantify titres from crude samples, eliminating the need for time-consuming purification, saving resources and reducing the chance of error.

Cost effective

Cost-effective

Measurement in standard 96-well microplates offers the flexibility to vary sample numbers. No need to wait for a full run or outsource analysis to other departments; a cost-effective solution for all laboratories.

Accurate

Accurate and sensitive

Measure mAb concentrations as low as 0.01 μg/mL up to 200 μg/mL. AAV concentrations: 1×109 vp/mL to 1×1011 vp/mL. Excellent data correlation with BLI, SPR and ELISA.

Automated

Automated assay consistency

Confidently replace manual assays. The automated dip-and-measure approach simplifies the quantification process. Start test and walk away!

Low maintenance

Low maintenance

The all-in-one optic-free system, including built-in computing, means no calibration or maintenance required between runs.

Walk-away automation

Amperia has been designed for simplicity and convenience. A benchtop instrument that requires as little as 10 minutes of setup time, before automatically performing full assays. Simply load your plate, place the RED-Sensors in the system and press play.

Amperia plate preparation

STEP 1

Plate preparation

Load your samples and all other reagents into a standard 96-well plate. The plate only acts as a container, meaning that most plates are fit for purpose. Custom, specialised plates are not required, you can just use whatever you have!

Amperia plate loading

STEP 2

Plate loading

Insert up to two 96-well plates into the instrument.

Agitation and temperature controls are built in.

Amperia insert adapter

STEP 3

Insert adapter

Add the sensor holding fixture.

Amperia sensor loading

STEP 4

Sensor loading

Load the sensor into the holding fixture. Depending on the experiments, load 1 to 8 sensors. Each sensor comes with four probes for accelerated parallel measurements.

Amperia experiment setup

STEP 5

Experiment setup

Use pre-defined protocols and start your measurements within seconds. Alternatively, design your custom assays, with full flexibility for plate layout and measurement sequence.

Amperia analysis built-in

STEP 6

Analysis built-in

Perform data analysis directly with Amperia. Generate standard curves and quantify samples with a few clicks. All data is saved and protected against changes later on.

Detection powered by RED

The ingenuity of the Amperia technology lies in proprietary Redox Electrochemical Detection – RED. The assay is performed at the tip of the RED-sensors, which tracks electrical alterations that occur when molecules interact. Measurement is highly sensitive and specific, allowing you to analyse low concentrations in a variety of complex media without the need for purification.

RED is highly versatile and compatible with standard reagents. As a platform technology, RED is compatible with a range of different assays, whether it is antibody quantification, AAV quantification or binding assays.

Amperia RED results have been shown to correlate highly with industry standard Bio-Layer Interferometry (BLI) and Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) quantification data in an independent study.

antibody quantification

Antibody Quantification

Quantify antibodies from crude samples using an affordable platform that can easily be placed at line. Measurements take as little as 1 minute per sample. Optimise the assessment of your transient expression, accelerate your cell line development programme, or gain access to at-line titre readings right next to your bioreactor. The compact size means the Amperia can be operated anywhere, whether it is within a laminar flow cabinet or on a tight lab bench.

AAV Quantification

Quantifying the physical titre of viral vectors in bioprocessing is crucial for process optimisation and maintaining consistency, efficacy, and safety of products such as gene therapies. Accurate measurement ensures uniformity between batches, and optimises resource utilisation, streamlining the development process. The Amperia enables users to automate capsid ELISAs and capture physical titre at-line in real time. This improves data accuracy by relieving manual processing and eliminates analytical bottlenecks that can be caused by the need for central analytical support.
